I’ve been at Automotive News for six months covering auto cybersecurity and mobility finance. I reported on NASA and crime, local government, League City, the bedroom community close to Mission Control/Johnson Space Center. Pitch news instead of promotional material. Getting pitches that have nothing to do with what I cover.
The country’s strong industrial base, particularly in sectors like aerospace, automotive and luxury goods, contributes significantly to its economic prowess and France’s influence in the world. Do not copy-paste the global comms strategy: The media will not pick up info that is not local-relevant. Be patient.

As one of the only chances you have of getting your campaign seen by a journalist, subject lines are arguably the most important part of a pitch. We’ll start with the most important aspect, which is crucial to your pitch standing a chance of getting picked up. It’s also crucial to understand sectors when pitching pieces.
A recession suspended publication of that magazine, which was part of the CCJ group, in 1982, but after that I ended up spending a year with Automotive Industries and T ruck and Off-Highway Magazine before I was laid off from there due to economics and a change in company ownership with a sharper eye to the bottom line (welcome to the 1980s).
Case in point: last month we secured an opportunity for one of our client partners to speak at an automotive conference about the importance of establishing trust to empower autonomous driving. In the B2B space for example, you can use media relations to generate leads for the sales team and shorten the sales cycle. It’s also just plain sexy.
It’s the pitching. It’s the content that’s being pitched out. So it could be content-led pitching and the expert quote, like contentless or whatever. Suppose we discuss the local news sites in the US, for example. Back in 2018, 2019, we were working with an automotive brand. It’s the ideas.
The second is where we get some tactical information about pitch strategy, email crafting, and media list building. And at the same time, I also worked for a local government publication. In Melbourne, where I was responsible for kind of sourcing stories for the publication, particularly around what was impacting local councils.
