A DC-based communications blog received the latest bad pitch. We’re calling it the Spectre of Doom pitch. Would you like to interview a homeland security expert about vulnerabilities in US malls? This pitch does take nerve. and “US malls” in the same pitch. Where is the call to action in this pitch?

That’s pretty wild for a kid who worked in a chemical plant after high school. What advice do you have for PR people that want to pitch you? That said, just be prepared to talk about why the product or advancement your pitching is a benefit to human beings. What story or stories are you most proud of?

I worked mostly liquid chemical tankers, but I ran a small company of my own for three years specializing in touring theatrical productions. What advice do you have for PR people that want to pitch you? I get lots of pitches for stories on the automotive industry, which occasionally cross over, but it’s rare. I am not an expert.

We look at the newsworthiness of anything–a safety incident at a chemical plant, a consent decree from the U.S. What advice do you have for PR people that want to pitch you? Refined silicon metal is used in alloys, especially aluminum; silicone rubber and adhesives; and solar arrays and microchips. Have a good angle.
